About Jordana

After 11 successful years in the corporate world, I became the youngest Executive Producer at a large advertising agency in Los Angeles, California.

Thanks to elbow-grease and “scrum mastering” on brands like Nike and Toyota, I had over a dozen industry awards to my name when I left my full-time position in 2016.

I loved the creative work I got to do and I adored my agency teams, but I also had this “now or never” itch. It was time to shift my core focus to total well-being, a pursuit that spanned more years than my career in tech.

In college I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.

Groggy-headed from my first-ever colonoscopy at age 20, I remember my GI doctor sitting at my bedside, “I think you should take the next semester off.”

‘He’s gotta be joking!’  I thought. Time off just wasn’t an option for me. All my Type A’s out there, you feel me?!?

It was at this time that I dove deep into my yoga practice and found mindfulness techniques to bring my fiery nature to balance.

I studied and implemented kriyas, self-care, pranayama and practices to naturally ease symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis as well as the precursor to all DIS-ease (read: lack of ease): STRESS and ANXIETY!

With two yoga teacher trainings under my belt and some knock-my-world-halfway-over-pick-up-the-pieces-and-form-something-new Ashram experiences in India, a few dozen yoga and meditation immersions, I’ve found my magical combination.

Pausing   +   Reflecting   +   Expressing   =   Ahh-Ha!

REFLECTION + EXPRESSION

In fact it was my love for brand and personal storytelling that propelled my own life shift and catalyzed creation for me. I began building my personal brand on Instagram in late 2015 along with The 180 Project. The research and writing give me an outlet for expression and I refined my authentic voice along the way. Using my social media chops, I have been blessed to connect with 10,000+ new friends who’ve shared the journey with me.

PEACEFUL PAUSES

The great yoga teacher Mark Whitwell has said that the way to start anything meaningful is to STOP, first.

The beauty of our lives lies in the silence, the space between one thought and the next, the bottom of the exhale and the top of the inhale.

Inspiration, balance and freedom happen for us when our subconscious merges with the conscious mind. These are “Aha!” moments and great clarity.

These peaceful pauses are scientifically proven to give us a deep sense of relaxation and ease. This is fertile soil for creativity: by removing anxiety that is choking up our amygdala (the part of the brain that reacts to life), we’re able to lead from the cortex (the part of the brain that thinks, reasons and gets really amazing ideas!).

This is why I teach meditation. It’s why I share breathing practices.

The best leaders come from a place of ease. The best ideas are manifested from a relaxed state of being.
